AACE ENGAGEMENT LOUNGES
AACE Engagement Lounges are Zoom meetings focusing on topics relevant to the work of our members, especially how our work is being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Upcoming Lounge
How in the World Do I Measure a Partnership?
28 April 2021, 3:00 - 4:30 PM EDT
This Engagement Lounge will be moderated by Education Committee Co-Chairs Georgia Robins Sadler, BSN, MBA, PhD, FAACE and Bret Hassel, PhD and will feature a conversation with Dr. Christie Drew, Branch Chief, Program Analysis Branch, National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, National Institutes of Health.
The Engagement Lounge will be open to all who might have an interest, not simply AACE members.
Our Zoom account is limited to 100 participants, but we will also be livestreaming this discussion on the AACE Facebook page for those who cannot access the Zoom meeting.
All attendees will be involved in asking or responding to questions, but we will set a few basic rules such as enforcing mute for the majority of participants until they raise their hand and using the chat function. AACE staff members will be present to make sure all technical needs are addressed and the event runs smoothly.
Dr. Drew will talk about the Evaluation Metrics Manual that NIEHS developed to help researchers and their partners measure research outcomes – particularly those that are not regularly captured in peer reviewed journal articles. The approach relies on developing a programmatic logic model and then building metrics for each logic model element. She will cover several strategies for identifying and selecting qualitative and quantitative metrics for less tangible concepts, such as the strength or value of a research partnership. The full Manual and Partnerships Chapter is available on the NIEHS website. We hope you will engage in a robust conversation with Dr. Drew following her presentation.
Christie Drew, PhD (she/her) is Chief of the Program Analysis Branch at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. She has worked in environmental health and evaluation for over 25 years. At NIEHS, Drew leads efforts to evaluate long-term outcomes and impacts of environmental health research grants. She brings expertise in logic modeling, metrics development and participatory decision-making. She has designed and manages several custom-built software applications for tracking impacts and career outcomes. Research areas include risk analysis and communication, transparent decision making, qualitative analysis and evaluation frameworks.

New for this Engagement Lounge: AACE is now using Otter, a service that provides live AI-generated closed captioning for Zoom meetings.
We look forward to seeing you on 28 April 2021. Please send your topics for discussion and any questions you have about the event to contactaace@aaceonline.com.
